'Operation Wandering Soul' comes with their new EP 'The Four Last Songs'. The EP was recorded using Ableton Live and a Tascam Portastudio 424.
Now, what does this song sounds like? On reflection, it sounds like early Beck and Daniel Johnston - I guess this is due to the involvement of the Tascam giving it a lo-fi gritty sound. 'Operation Wandering Soul' is a challenging, Original and experimental lo-fi track with a perfectly chosen title. The soundscapes, nasal vocals and high-pitched backings make this an interesting track to listen to. Most of the time, the song is soothing and calm, leaving room for all instruments to be heard.
In the submission, Faust Arp added: "I would bounce digital tracks to the Tascam and manipulate them on tape (mainly pitch). These sounds would be re-recorded into Ableton adding saturation to the audio. All effects on the tracks are "in the box" Ableton effects. Most delay effects were synced to the tempo of the track and I automated the "dry/wet" function to create movement. All the instruments were recorded from free VSTS found online."
