Linn Koch-Emmery – Under The Sun
Linn is a Fuzz obsessive Swede who burst onto the scene in 2016 with her shoegaze inspired debut single “Come Back”. Now she’s back with her new single “Under The Sun”. Right from the get-go the fuzzy guitars and her rich, expressive, edgy vocals prove this track to be an exciting powerful Indie Rock track. The mix of garage, alternative rock and shoegaze are surprising and work really well. According to Linn “Under The Sun is probably the most evil break-up song ever written”. If this is a break-up song, we’re only curious to hear what happens when she’s in love …
James Wyatt Crosby – Lightning
James is a multi-genre musician, producer and recording artist from Southern Ontario, Canada. “Lighting” originally evolved from a sample of an old piece of medieval choral music. What’s interesting is that the song is in 6/4. It’s a song that you can listen to again and again and find new sounds and elements all the time. It’s poppy and catchy without the obvious 4/4, guitar, drums, bass and vocals. The drones, effects, analogue synths and samples definitely make “Lighting” a memorable track.
Fiveash – Losing Sleep
Fiveash are Western Sydney, Australia’s latest addition to the ever-growing Australian pop-punk scene. “Losing Sleep” is a catchy, energetic upbeat punk rock track fuelled with three bar chords, engaging guitar licks and vocals that bear resemblance to Blink 182 and +44. Fiveash are not reinventing the genre but paid close attention to bands they like and delivered a highly melodious well-shaped pop-punk track.
