Now over to Aged Teen's newest EP called 'Plaster', released on December 7th, 2016. A nice mix of alternative/grunge and acoustic rock ballads.
The first track on the EP is 'Slight Summer Depression'. A mix of blues and folk supported by strong vocals. It's cool the way the strumming guitar is the key element in the song, which keeps everything together. 'Slight Summer Depression' is actually a punk song Dario wrote as a teenager. We're more than curious what the original song sounds like! Next up is 'Desolation'. Again the production is top notch. All instruments are balanced and together tell a compelling story. The distinctive, rich and expressive vocals really stand out. The third track on the EP is 'The Sound'. Aged Teen speed up and press the distortion pedal on this one. 'The Sound' is an Alternative Rock track, with some hints to 90s EMO bands, because of the vocals and guitar sound. Fourth track is 'Years of Grief' and is a mix of sounds you heard earlier on the EP. A slow-tempo ballad with meaningful lyrics. Aged Teen show great musicality on 'Plaster'. Imaginative, creative, solid and atmospheric. Last track on the EP is an acoustic version of 'Self-Doubt'. It's a new version of the song originally appearing on 'This Is Not An Exit'. Listen to 'Plaster' on Spotify and follow Aged Teen on Facebook and Twitter. We'd love to hear your thoughts, which you can add below. Enjoy! |
