Seafoam is a quality chunk of dream pop. Long, drawn-out synth chords conjure pictures of Icelandic oceans and a body drifting, floating or frozen, yet the vocal has enough warmth to keep you engaged. Oddly, while all this electro shoegazing is going on, you can’t escape the feeling that Lave have also been listing to a bit of PM Dawn, and that trip-hop vibe has seeped into the melody too, which is no bad thing, and gives what might otherwise have a been a languorous, slow burning track, an immediacy and a commercial edge.
Three and a half minutes of being set adrift on memory bliss.
