However, heed the lyrical advice, it’s probably beneficial for all of us, which is what great songwriting is about; an ability to apply something to your own life as the listener. April 3rd, 1988 is expertly crafted and presented. Its punchy nature, compressed guitars and ethereal bell sounds come in a tightly-knit package that could reside in many rock playlists. The vocal performance is on point and displays prowess in range.
Powerful at times and in falsetto at times, it travels well along the landscape of the song. The bridge of the April 3rd is notable because it develops another mood layer within the single, perhaps shaping it in a more remorseful sort of way; it’s anachronistic and transports me back by way of some Jellyfish middle 8! April 3rd, 1988 is a great add for fans of Weezer, Ben Folds and Jimmy Eat World.
